The Unemployment Predictions
The COVID-19 coronavirus is taking a toll on lives, States’ healthcare systems and the economy.
Due to business closures, the economy has deteriorated and the key indicators, like the unemployment rate, are expected to decrease or even be negative.
Here are three predictions for unemployment in the US.
- According to Goldman Sachs unemployment estimates could reach 2.25 millions. Goldman is using preliminary data from 30 states and anecdotes to make this prediction.
- The Economic Policy Institute has a higher estimates of $3 million job loss due to the Coronavirus situation.
- The St. Louis Federal Reserve President is less optimistic, he expects 30% unemployment by the second quarter.
The positive about these predictions is that the economy is expected to rebound in the last quarter of this year (just a prediction).
